Last week, Valentine Corporation completed the landslide repairs at 70 Irwin Street. After nearly two and half years of detours and closure, the portion of roadway between 70 and 90 Irwin is now open. This project included the installation of four retaining walls, significant drainage improvements on the slope, permanent slope retention, and a new road section in the area that was affected by the landslide.
In addition, the Department of Public Works is planning several other drainage improvement projects in the hills surrounding the Bret Harte neighborhood to better prepare for future storms.
