Just when you thought you had memorized the entire Municipal Code, we go and propose changes! Our Community Development Department has gone through and prepared updates to selected titles and chapters of the San Rafael Municipal Code including: clarifications and corrections to code provisions and zoning map changes, new provisions and standards addressing topics such as community gardens and community signs, incorporation of recent studies and initiatives such as downtown parking changes, architectural features that are allowed to encroach over the public right-of-way, and other updates to make sure that our municipal code is in compliance with State law.
