This year’s Arbor Day event was held on October 22nd at Oleander Park in Terra Linda. This was the 37th annual event to maintain our “Tree City USA” membership. Many were in attendance, including service contractors, Community Services & Public Works staff, and members from the Town of Tiburon. Mark Wright honored the late Parks Maintenance Supervisor, Dave Davenport, by dedicating one of the three Douglas fir trees that were planted in Dave’s memory. Pat Kerslake from Tiburon listed a few of Davenport’s achievements from his time spent working with them. Aaron Tubbs continued with a list of 10 interesting facts about Douglas fir trees. Jim Schutz served in place of the Mayor and decreed the city a “tree city”. The trees were planted by the parks staff, members of Treemasters Tree Service, and other community members.
