For the past year, Caltrans has been making progress to the highly anticipated bicycle-pedestrian pathway on Richmond-San Rafael Bridge (I-580). The 10-foot bi-directional pathway will be separated from traffic by a movable concrete barrier system, similar to the one installed on the Golden Gate Bridge. As a part of these improvements the bike path will be extended from the offramp of the bridge onto Sir Francis Drake Blvd by widening Francisco Blvd East between Main Street and the entrance to Starkweather Park. Demolition began this week by contractor O.C. Jones, which is causing traffic delays in the morning. To avoid these delays, please consider exiting onto Bellam Blvd and taking Francisco Blvd East when visiting us out here at 111 Morphew Street. Construction will continue for the next six months.
