Council Economic Development Sub-Committee receives update on Economic Development Strategic Plan Policy and Program Recommendations from Kosmont Companies
April 13, 2023, the Council Economic Development Subcommittee received a briefing from Kosmont Companies on the Economic Strategic Plan draft policy and program recommendations. This presentation was a follow-up to the initial presentation made by Kosmont Companies in February 2023. The recommendations were built upon the City’s economic strengths and opportunities, community survey results, interviews with community stakeholders, and successful economic development models implemented in other California communities.
The Economic Strategic Plan is designed to provide a roadmap for the City’s economic development efforts over the next five years.
The April 13 presentation highlighted several key areas of opportunity for our community, including the potential for increased tourism, improvements in our downtown area, growth of our industrial sector, and financing models to meet needed infrastructure and program costs.
