Update on Trustee Area 5 Election
Incumbent Marina Palma has decided not to seek re-election for the San Rafael City Schools Board of Education Trustee Area 5 seat.
As a result, the City Clerk’s office has extended the nomination period for this seat. Candidates now have until Wednesday, August 14 to submit their nomination papers.
To run for this position, you must be a registered voter residing in Trustee Area 5. There is no filing fee to run for office. However, if you choose to include a Candidate’s Statement of Qualifications in the voter guide, there is a fee: $225 for an English-only statement, or $450 for a bilingual English and Spanish statement.
