The City is gearing up for one of its biggest citywide energy efficiency upgrades yet. Last fall the City partnered with PG&E to apply for a $1.2m California Energy Commission (CEC) loan to replace all streetlights within the City, and interior lights in older City buildings with more energy efficient LED bulbs. The savings generated by the new lights will pay back the loan over 10 years. On Tuesday evening, the Council will have a public hearing on accepting the loan and the proposed Services Agreement with PG&E to carry out the project. READ THE STAFF REPORT
