Fire Commission Meeting

The Board of Fire Commissioners consists of five members appointed by the City Council, one of whom may be a councilmember. The Fire Chief is an ex officio member of the commission, but is not entitled to vote as a member of the commission. The commission reviews and makes recommendations concerning the future needs of the fire department in respect to long-range capital needs, including buildings, training facilities, and water mains, hydrant replacements, and the department operating budget . The Commission also advises and supports the goals and objectives of the fire department.
