Francisco Boulevard West was recently converted to one-way southbound from Second Street to Rice Drive. This was done to improve safety at the SMART rail crossing at Second Street by diverting northbound traffic to Lindaro. It also allowed us to make room for a two-way protected cycle track on the west side of the street. As a result of this, traffic patterns in the area have changed, including more vehicles and bikes being rerouted through the Rice/DuBois intersection. There are some sight line issues that could not be corrected with red curb or trimming back vegetation so Traffic Engineering felt an All Way STOP would be appropriate at this intersection. The crews installed the new STOPS and crosswalks in the wee hours of Friday morning. Thanks guys!
