Please note, this is an ARCHIVED story. The application deadline for the General Plan Steering Committee has passed.
The City is accepting applications from persons interested in serving on the General Plan 2040 Steering Committee. This 21-member Committee will have a key role in the Plan Update, and will be a sounding board for new City policies, actions, and ideas for San Rafael’s future. Fourteen of the 21 seats on the Committee are reserved for City Boards, Commissions, and established stakeholder groups. Members of the public are encouraged to apply to fill the other seven seats. The City is particularly interested in members who can serve as advocates for youth, seniors, and persons experiencing homelessness, as well as advocates for housing, the environment, and cultural resources. Members will need to attend an evening meeting on the second Wednesday of the month for approximately two years, starting in January 2018. Applications are due by September 29, 2017 and you can apply online.
