Help San Rafael be more Disaster Resilient

Posted on April 27, 2017

San Rafael is developing a Local Hazard Mitigation Plan to prepare for natural disasters like flood, drought, fire, earthquakes, and severe weather. This plan forms the foundation for our long-term strategy to reduce losses by breaking the repeated cycle of disaster damage and reconstruction. Additionally, only communities with a FEMA-approved Hazard Mitigation Plan are eligible to apply for both pre- and post-disaster mitigation grant funding. You can read the draft plan and provide feedback on our website. We’re also holding a public meeting at 6 p.m. on March 10 (top floor conference room of City Hall) to share the plan and get your feedback.
