Homelessness Solutions Working Group

Purpose

The City of San Rafael is establishing a working group that will meet three times over the next six months to explore ongoing challenges and potential solutions regarding homelessness in the City.

We have heard from the community that they want to help and want to better understand the complexities surrounding solving homelessness.

The work of this group will serve as a foundation for the City’s Homelessness Solutions Action Plan, which will be developed in 2025.

In addition, working group members will be trusted messengers who will communicate with their colleagues and neighbors about what they’ve learned and what the City and the County are doing together to respond to homelessness in San Rafael. Example topics for this group include the legal challenges, enforcement activities, shelter demand, services, programs, funding and other obstacles.

Meetings
The working group will meet in person for all sessions, with virtual access via Zoom available for the presentation portion of each meeting. Meetings will be held on the second Tuesday of November, January, and March, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. The presentation portion of each meeting can be accessed publicly via Zoom at the following link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/81713924379 .
