On Saturday, February 18th volunteers braved the chilly weather to pick up litter along Shoreline Path behind Pickleweed Park. The clean-up was part of an ongoing effort to stop litter from harming our waterways and wildlife. We welcomed participation from Canal-area neighbors, BioMarin employees and San Rafael residents who use the pathway to exercise and enjoy the great outdoors. In just two hours, volunteers filled more than a dozen bags with litter and even pulled a few old rusty bike wheels and tires from the shoreline.
Several more clean-ups are planned around San Rafael for Earth Day on Saturday, April 22nd, including the Downtown Clean and Green and Friday, April 21st from 10am-12pm. Be sure to check the events page regularly for information on upcoming clean-ups!
