San Rafael Design Review Board
Tuesday, July 18th, 2023 | 6:00 p.m.
On July 18, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. the Design Review Board will conduct a public hearing for this project and seek community input as well as provide comments on the overall site plan for the entire project and will include review of: pedestrian and bicycle circulation; overall landscaping plan for the entire project; and on the architecture of the proposed new and updated commercial buildings.

The public may participate either by attending the meeting in person at 1400 Fifth Avenue, San Rafael or by teleconference by visiting https://www.cityofsanrafael.org/departments/public-meetings/ for the call-in phone number and meeting ID listed on the agenda, or using the Zoom app to connect to this meeting ID. You may submit comments on the project to northgatemall@cityofsanrafael.org.

About the Project
The Northgate Mall Redevelopment project proposes a comprehensive redevelopment of the existing mall into an open-air “main street experience,” surrounded by mixed-use development of retail and up to 1,422 residences. The Project proposes to reduce the existing commercial retail from 775,677 sq. ft. to 225,100 square feet and construct high-density multifamily residential buildings in the form of townhome units and apartment buildings ranging in height from two to seven stories.
