New Hybrid Patrol Vehicles

DPW garage staff and PD just put the last of three recently purchased Hybrid Patrol vehicles into service. These new hybrid models are expected to save up to 30% on fuel costs per vehicle and are better for the environment.

Vehicle Maintenance

The Vehicle Maintenance Division has stayed busy keeping up with routine maintenance and unscheduled repairs on city vehicles. Staff has been wearing masks and are able to maintain social distance as they work on vehicles and equipment. They also sanitize high touch areas as necessary.

Library Upgrades

The east side office library wall and wall-mounted bookshelves were removed to create more space for library staff. This created a more open floor plan to help staff navigate the area more freely. In addition to the wall removal, old carpeting was removed and replaced with already existing carpet squares.

Falkirk Rear Gate Repair

Repairs to the Falkirk rear gates were made due to damage caused by Homeless people attempting to gain access to under deck area. The lattice was torn off and broken in several places. Terra Linda Pool and Community Center

Terra Linda Pool and Community Center was having some issues with the pressure regulator for the water main. The unit developed a crack in the brass body and needed to be replaced. Out Facilities Team found an exact replacement locally and were able to make the repair same day

Coleman Childcare Center Floor Repairs

Coleman Childcare Center had issues with a sinking subfloor at the entrance. Due to deferred costs for larger projects, the flooring became costlier. As our team was removing the flooring, they found pests under the modular and pest control services were needed to remedy the issues. All damaged subfloor area was removed, and additional framing support added for new subfloor going in, linoleum was patched in. Pest control work … Continued

Parkside Preschool Repairs

Parkside Preschool had plumbing issues with their sink. The damaged sink plumbing was leaking from multiple connections, the faucet was worn and damaged beyond repair. The water damage to the surrounding area was significant. Our facilities team had to replace the sink basin, faucet, water shutoff valve, and removed and cleaned up the damaged area. … Continued

Albert J. Boro Community Center Computer Lab upgrades

Albert J. Boro Community Center received a wiring upgrade for future computer stations. Our team added several new 120v electrical receptacles on walls as needed. While doing this upgrade, they also ran new wiring for the computers to have online capabilities.
