Effective March 31st, all parks, sports fields and open space are closed to motorized access. Playgrounds, basketball courts and picnic and barbeque amenities are completely closed. Parking lots serving parks and open space are also closed. Community members may walk or bike to nearby parks and pathways for necessary exercise, while maintaining social distancing. In an effort to educate the public on these new rules, the Department of Public works in conjunction with the City of San Rafael Emergency Operation Center, created signs that were installed at all parks and open space. These signs are reminders that we all need to work together to save lives and prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus. DPW staff will continue to monitor these signs and update them as necessary.
