The Department of Public Works team has completed the last phase of the Fire Station 55 Renovation Project.
The Fire Station 55 Renovation project, located at 955 Point San Pedro Road, broke ground in 2022. The site housed a temporary fire station building while construction was underway. The lot was insufficient to accommodate construction vehicles, materials, large machinery, and the temporary buildings. To mitigate these site constraints and to ensure the safety of the community and staff, the City temporarily allowed the contractor to utilize one traffic lane, westbound, during construction. The firefighters moved into the new station last spring, and the rest of the site improvements were completed last summer.
Last week, the road was restriped and restored to its original configuration by Michael Paul Company. The Point San Pedro Road is back to two traffic lanes and one bike lane.
The neighbors in the Peacock Gap community are thrilled with the restoration!
