**ATTN CUSTOMERS**  Effective 1/1/2023 all Building Permits issued after this date will be valid for 2 years.  Minor permits such as water heater & furnaces, etc. will be valid for 180 days only.    If your permit is not Finaled by the expiration date you will need to pay a renewal fee.  

Solar, Battery Back ups, EV Chargers

Anyone can apply for a permit online, but if this is your first time applying, you will need to create a user account.

Property owners, Architects, Agents, etc:  You can create an account in the permitting portal  Here

Contractors:  To apply for permits you will need to be logged into your account.  To request an account click here if you do not already have one.

Do not include the solar panel count or kilowatts for the  solar project in your permit description.  That data should be noted on your plans.  

Example Description:  "roof mounted solar"  or  "roof mounted solar & battery backup"        

Your Solar Panels and thermal plans should include:

  • Site plan (including panel locations, layout and clearances)
  • Electrical details
  • Manufacture specs
  • If Solar Panels, Battery Back Up and/or Service Panel upgrades are being done at the same time, those items can be included on your solar permit.  Make sure they are included in the scope of work on your plans and in the permit description.   Additional fees may be added to your permit for these items.

     Reroof  with Solar Tiles:  

  • Site plan
  • Electrical details
  • Manufacture specs
  • 🚩When Appling for this permit only enter the value for the reroof portion. DO NOT include the solar tiles in your value.

         Electrical Vehicle and Energy Storage Systems plans should include: 

  • Floor plan with device location
  • Electrical diagram
  • Manufacture specs
