The Transportation Authority of Marin (TAM) is seeking support from each jurisdiction in Marin for their pursuit of State legislation that would provide a local sales tax cap exemption. The bill would provide an exemption of no more than an additional 0.5% and could allow TAM to ask voters to reauthorize and supplement the existing Transportation Sales Tax (which funds transportation projects in Marin County). At Tuesday’s meeting, the City Council will consider issuing a statement in support of TAM’s endeavor.
