The City of San Rafael has long operated with an abiding respect for all of our community. We are a city for all of our residents and businesses and are proud of the trust that we have built with our immigrant community. Immigrants are extremely valued and essential members of San Rafael and we are a stronger city for it. This commitment is not new. On Monday evening at their 7 p.m. meeting, the City Council will consider an advisory letter to Senate President pro Tempore Kevin de León regarding SB 54, “The California Values Act.” The draft letter states the City’s longstanding position and practices affecting undocumented immigrants.
