The City Hall building will be closed to the general public on Fridays from June 6, 2025 through August 29, 2025. San Rafael Community Centers, Libraries, Al Boro Parking Services, and all Public Safety services will remain open and maintain normal Friday hours.

The City is considering this request and coordinating with Emergency Services on feasibility.

The timing of the pedestrian crossing needs to be completed as part of the 95% design. The timing is determined based on lengths of crosswalks and an assumed typical walking speed of 3.5 feet per second per State guidelines.

In the currently proposed conceptual design, the merger would be restored. Some form of  traffic management would exist to protect pedestrians and cyclists making the north-south movement across the intersection.

Will the City provide additional signage at the 2nd Street and West Street intersection in relation to the existing bicycle track?

The City is working with our Traffic Division to consider this request separately from the project.

Will the City provide signage to limit the size of trucks allowed on Marquard Ave. and Fremont Road?

The City is currently evaluating the feasibility of limiting truck sizes along Marquard Ave. and Fremont Road.

Would the new intersection be timed with adjacent traffic lights along 2nd Street?

The infrastructure needed to physically tie the intersection to adjacent traffic lights along 2nd Street in not currently in place. The intersection would be timed via operational modifications. The existing intersection is not timed with adjacent traffic lights.
