If you’ve driven down Second Street this week – you may have noticed a lane closure along with some pretty major sidewalk construction between C and D Streets. Van Midde & Son Concrete began work on Monday with what might be one of the largest square footage of sidewalk repair in this year’s program.
The two properties – the new Deli and the Chevron gas station have combined forces as Sidewalk Repair Program participants in the replacement of 2000 sq ft of sidewalk and driveway apron, and 200 linear feet of curb and gutter along the two properties. A central point in connecting downtown and the Gerstle Park neighborhood, the new sidewalk at this site will greatly enhance the pedestrian experience in the area.
Construction should be wrapped up at this site by the end of the this week.
