Sidewalk Repair Program resumes work in East San Rafael

Posted on July 10, 2020

The Sidewalk Repair Program resumed work in East San Rafael in early June. Since then, the City’s contractor, Van Midde and Son Concrete have completed sidewalks at another 20 locations on San Marino and Riviera Dr with an additional 50 properties scheduled in the neighborhood. Work on Riviera Dr. will continue and will start heading back towards the downtown area, completing the Dominican and Lincoln Hill neighborhoods along the way before heading over to Terra Linda. Since the beginning of 2019, the City has replaced over 1.2 miles of new sidewalk in over 170 locations. That’s enough new sidewalk to stretch from City Hall to San Rafael High School! Additionally, 60 miles of new curb and gutter have also been replaced within the City.

For participants that signed up for last year’s program, we are working to conduct inspections a few weeks prior to our contractor commencing work in your neighborhood. The City or contractor will reach out to you prior to the inspection and no further action is required. For more information about the program or to be notified the next time applications are accepted, please visit us at www.cityofsanrafael.org/sidewalks
