9/4/18 – Sidewalk Repair Program Update

Posted on September 4, 2018

Broken sidewalk1

Public Works and contractors have been hard at work answering sidewalk repair inquiries and final inspection scheduling all throughout late July and August. Thank you to all applicants that have arranged for the final inspection required with their preferred contractor before the deadline. Do not be alarmed if contractors are slow to respond, doubling of this year’s applicant pool (366 instead of the intended 150) has caused an influx in workloads. They will respond to schedule final inspections.

Applicants that are committing to construction at their properties (approximately 150 at the moment) have arranged for the final inspection required with their preferred contractor. Once that final inspection by the contractor is complete, property owners will receive a final quote and agreement from the contractor to sign, and will then send that agreement to the City within 10 days of signing the contract. The City will review the final agreement and sign it – making the construction work and costsharing official. At this point, contractors are finishing inspections and the City has not received any final signed agreements from property owners yet. The majority of applicants have indicated that they will be working with Van Midde Conrete.

Construction work is estimated to take place during the months of September and October and will take place by neighborhood.

Note to all property owners: Please remember to send a copy of the final signed agreement to the City within 10 days of signing the contract.
