At their meeting on Monday, March 20 at 7 p.m., the City Council will consider authorizing an agreement detailing the City’s collaboration with SMART on construction of projects related to the Larkspur Extension. You may have heard the recent good news that Golden Gate Transit and Marin Transit buses will no longer need to use City streets as bus stops as originally anticipated. This will help on traffic congestion issues. The purpose of the MOU is to facilitate the construction of the “flip” which would flip West Francisco Boulevard with the SMART train tracks and eliminate the need for two at-grade crossings and greatly improve the safety in the area for motorists, cyclists, pedestrians, and all modes of transportation.  The MOU also addresses SMART’s construction of the City’s improvements at Andersen Drive.
