After two years of coordinating with Caltrans, the City received permission to move forward with a project to repave Smith Ranch Road/Lucas Valley Road under Highway 101. Between September 28th and October 1st, the City’s paving contractor, Ghilotti Bros, removed the top 4” of asphalt and paved back the new asphalt providing a smooth riding surface for all motorists and bicyclists through this area. The work was performed at night and required detours as the on/off-ramps to Highway 101 were completely closed to traffic. It was a team effort to bring this paving portion to a close. Striping and other ancillary work will take place over the next couple of weeks before project completion.
