The Southern Heights Bridge replacement project, a fully state-funded project, is moving closer to construction. The City recently selected a firm to lead construction management for the complicated project and will be seeking Council approval on August 3rd for the $425,000 professional services contract. AT&T also recently moved their lines away from the bridge, readying the area for major construction.
Staff estimates that the project will take about 9 months and begin in November 2020 – putting project completion roughly in August 2021. Once it begins, construction will take place during standard hours, 7am-5pm Monday through Friday – at this time the City is not anticipating night or weekend work. There will be some resurfacing of the adjacent Meyer Road as a part of the project.
