Station 52 Ribbon Cutting

It has been a goal for at least a decade and it has finally been achieved. San Rafael’s Fire Station 52 is now open for service! On Monday, May 13, we celebrated the opening of the new fire station, which replaces the original station built in 1958, with a ribbon-cutting that was attended by our City Council, Board of Supervisors, and community members. Those who attended were able to tour the station, meet the staff, and enjoy the progress made on our Essential Facilities projects. We’re thankful for the San Rafael community who passed Measure E in November of 2013 which provides funds for this effort. A special thanks to everyone who provided input and support, including the: Mayor and City Council and their Facilities Subcommittee; community working group, Fire Commission, City staff including all fire personnel, Mary McGrath Architects, Kitchell construction management, Alten Construction, and others.
