Strong Winds!

Posted on February 22, 2023

The weather system pushing through today is peaking stronger than forecast, with widespread gusts 45 – 55 mph and peak gusts in some spots exceeding 60 mph; the latest DSO SOPP has been adjusted for today to cover this escalation.

Storm safety tips. Never touch downed wires. Have fresh water. Charge phones and devices. Use generators safely. Use flashlights not candles. Have alternate plans for medical needs.

SAFETY: STRONG WINDS! Downed trees/branches could be hiding a power line. Assume all wires are energized and extremely dangerous. Don’t touch or try to move it—keep children and animals away. Report downed lines to 911 and PG&E at 1-800-743-5002.
