On Saturday June 2, 2018 we’ll be returning Tamalpais Ave (Mission to 3rd Street) to its pre-temporary bike lane condition as a two-way street and on-street parking on both sides. The Tamalpais Bike Lane was a temporary pilot project designed to get feedback and data on usage of the lane and the effect on traffic, pedestrian and bicycle safety, and parking in the area.
In order to remove the bike lane, crews will be closing the road on Saturday and recoating the pavement with a “slurry seal”. The road closure will start at 6 a.m. on Saturday, and it is anticipated that the street will be re-opened to traffic around 4 p.m. the same day.
There’s still time to tell us what you think about the temporary Tamalpais bike lane! Visit the project page to give feedback.
