How do I report a broken parking meter?

Please take note of the parking meter number.  It’s listed on the white label usually on the back side of the meter.  Contact Parking Division and include the parking meter # and a brief description of how the meter malfunctioned.  Thanks!

How do I pay my parking ticket?

You may pay your parking ticket online, by mail or in-person at 1400 Fifth Avenue , San Rafael, CA 94901. For more information, visit Parking Services.

Where is a good place to walk?

We are lucky to live in such a beautiful city. Get the most out of your surroundings by taking a walk around China Camp, the Civic Center Lagoon Park, Fourth Street in Downtown San Rafael or the Sleepy Hollow/Terra Linda Divide.

How can I get to the ferry by bicycle?

The Cal Park Tunnel bike and walking path connects Andersen Drive in San Rafael to Larkspur Landing. Check out 511.org for help planing your bike trip to the Larkspur Ferry or the Sausalito Ferry terminals. You can get additional information about biking to, and bringing your bike aboard, ferries by visiting Golden Gate Ferry website.

How do I use your parking meters?

Our parking meters accept coins (except pennies) and credit cards for your convenience and ease of use. In addition, you can pay, as well as add time to your meter, with the parkmobile app.

Can I park overnight in Downtown San Rafael?

Yes, but contact us first! For 1-3 nights, you may park in the Downtown A Street and C Street municipal garages for a daily fee of $10. For more than 3 consecutive nights, it’s possible but we should talk.

Where can I park Downtown?

You cannot pay Marin Parking Authority tickets with the City of San Rafael. The City of San Rafael and Marin Parking Authority are separate agencies.  The Marin Parking Authority handles all parking citations received in Marin County except San Rafael.
