This year marks the 13th annual Transgender Day of Visibility, an annual awareness day celebrated around the world. The day is dedicated to celebrating the accomplishments of transgender and gender nonconforming people while raising awareness of the work that still needs to be done to achieve transgender justice. The City of San Rafael is home to many Transgender (trans) and nonbinary people who make important contributions to our economic, cultural and civic vitality. To commemorate the day and to recognize these transgender individuals’ contributions and achievements, Mayor Kate Colin and the City Council of the City of San Rafael recognizes March 31st as Transgender Day of Visibility in the City of San Rafael.
