Two New Electric Buses Arrive at Marin Transit

Posted on November 1, 2018

Marin Transit has added the first two Zero Emission Battery Electric Buses in September 2018! The buses, which can seat 32 passengers, will charge overnight and be operated on Marin Transit local routes by Golden Gate Transit (GGT).  Charging infrastructure has been installed already.  The estimated range of the buses is 145 miles per charge, but conditions such as heat and hills reduce the range.  Initially, the buses will operate no more than 80 miles per day as both Transit agencies learn more about the buses’ capabilities. Throughout the life of the buses, staff will be evaluating performance, reliability, cost, and scalability.
