Utility Box Art

**We are currently not accepting applications to paint utility boxes but will re-evaluate as budgeting and policy changes. Please check back here for any future updates.**

The San Rafael Chamber of Commerce Leadership Institute Class project wrapped up this week, with the completion of six painted utility boxes downtown. The project was developed to enhance the beauty and vibrancy of San Rafael and bring art to unexpected places. Through the efforts of this project, six local artists were commissioned to showcase their original work on utility boxes in Downtown San Rafael. The Chamber Rafael Leadership Class is a 9-month program comprised of professionals and business leaders from through the business and nonprofit community, and this year’s class included City members Lindsay Lara (City Clerk) Lauren Monson (City Attorney) and Talia Smith (Public Works). Join us at the Art Works Downtown Second Friday Art Walk on 6/14 from 5 PM – 7 PM to meet the artists and celebrate this new colorful addition to our downtown space!
